customizing mandrakemove ...

Hi.
I am new to linux. (this doesn't mean I used to boot windows : I'm a Mac user ;) ).

My aim is to customize a few the mandrakemove distrib.
For example, since I want no OS on my Dell's hard disk and since I have no usb key memory, I decided to change the default boot command by appending the 'virtual_key=/dev/hda1' parameter.

However, adding some programs or changing the boot (the actual boot, not loading) graphical screen.
The problem is that I don't understand how is formated the 'boot.msg' file ... I tried RAW with Photoshop and ... nothing. I understood that the used boot loader is ISOLINUX. However on the software's web site there is nothing about how to format the file. There's just a screen copy showing it's possible.
Also, what is this .clp file format ? None of my image disk utilities recognized it ... If you know a way to open/edit them on mac os x ...

Of course, the easiest would be to create my own live CD. I found really good tutorials about this when looking for answers the previous questions. Thank you guys (community) ;) .
However I'd best like first to finish with the current matter : customizing mandrakemove. :)

Thank you for answering
Pierre.
