Could not open default font 'fixed' installing 10.0
 

Hi there,

I decided to upgrade my Mandrake 9.2 installation to 10.0 (download version) but it was not possible to make it work in graphic display. I have an ATI Radeon 7500 which the new installer detected as radeon, but when I test the installation it gives the message: Could not open default font 'fixed'.

The new installation works properly in text mode, but it doesn't start the graphic system. Any directions?

have u installed the fonts properly?
try running fc-cache, or try restarting the xfs (X font server)

It's supposed that the upgrade should install all that were required, but... How can I install the fonts? How can I check if they are properly installed? rpm -i xxxx? And rpm -q yyyy?

I run fc-cache and xfs but I didn't make anything.
