Connect to Internet Thru Proxy server on Work lan
Hi there
I would just like to find out how do i setup my internet connection at work, we go thru a proxy server did specify manual config and entered the IP but it 's not working. And also To connect to my lan I think i am doing this backwards i firstly have to setup my lan connection to log on to my domain/Server to be able to acces the network- How do i do that? Becuase i use xp and when i logon i connect to our server How do i use my Logon info in Mandrake 10.0 User account on NT sever Domain I have to logon to our server with username and pass that was given to me to gain access to network resources Sorry if im all over the place! Thanks in advance |
First: it would seem that your work server is a Windows server. To log onto the server and use it's network shares you will need to install Samba on both your Linux box and the server.
Second: assuming that your server will let you connect to the internet without logging onto the server itself (that is, only logging onto the proxy server), open Mozilla (for example), click edit, preferences and select advanced. In there you will see the option proxy - you will need to enter the proxy settings in there. and Welcome to LQ :) |
