Hi siggma, And welcome to LQ.

Just a short note to begin with, In forum parlance, what you have done here is called hijacking a post, main problem being that your question won't get the attention it deserves, because, like me, if this thread has been exhausted, not many will look at it and notice your question. My advice, start a new thread, and don't take for granted the people know what you are talking about (spell it all out again)

Any how, you can find the network conf files for your adaptors in /etc/sysconfig.

I would take out any un-needed cards and setup the system for the web first, then add a card for the next lan connection, and set it up. and finally the next card. Please note, you should reboot between each setup to avoid naming confusion.

I believe that once upon a time the last card was the internet connection and the first was the primary lan. But that may have changed since MDK10.1 (when I last had it setup).

Also, typing dmesg at a prompt will show you what the kernel printed to screen while it was starting your system, there may be some pertinent info there about your network cards.

Cheers, hope this helps. Glenn

Thanks

Thank you for the reply.

I discovered an underlying hardware issue that has been corrected. See explaination

I managed to successfully install Fedora Core 7 and I'm happy with the install.
I got the smb working find now so the issue is resolved. It sees to have been related to install failures due to a Fasttrack 100 controller.
