./configure driving me nuts about qt, it's already installed...

I posted before that I was able to dl qt but the redhat version but then i found the mandrake version and installed it. configure is still whining about qt being gone but it's there. here's what the config log shows:

configure: WARNING: libjpeg not found. disable JPEG support.
checking for perl... /usr/bin/perl
checking for Qt... configure: error: Qt (>= Qt 3.0) (headers and libraries) not found. Please check your installation!
For more details about this problem, look at the end of config.log.

I can't go any further with the make & make file processes (i think) without it)... Does anyone know how I can remedy the problem with qt?

ps- I just checked config.log. this is what it says:

This file contains any messages produced by compilers while
running configure, to aid debugging if configure makes a mistake.

It was created by configure, which was
generated by GNU Autoconf 2.57. Invocation command line was

$ ./configure

Try running:
./configure --help | grep qt

There is probably an option that lets you set an explicit path to your qt installation - try using that.
