CONFIGURATION OF INTERNAL 56K MDC MODEM EX SMART LINK

Use dial-up connection to service provider (which operates perfectly under windows) but do not know how and hence am unable to configure it in Linux.
Would be most grateful for help as am desperate to get rid of Windows.


Apologies, should have been more specific. Am unable to ping or even get dialing tone. Need to know what to use parameters to manually configure modem. It might be that's its Microsoft specific, in which case, will have to get list of modems which are Linux compatible.

point & click

menu -> system -> configure your computer

enter root password

click on network&internet -> set up new netwrok interface

Many thanks, but that's not the problem. Mandrake does not see my dialup modem. Cant ping or even get dialing tone. Need to know parameters for modem.
