comcast cable connection, cant configure right

could someone please help me setup my comcast connection? i manually entered my DNS and gateway...but still, the connection does not work.

I have Comcast cable and it uses DHCP... you cannot connect by manually entering DNS and Gateway configurations unless you have paid for a static IP...

How are you connecting to comcast would be the $20 question

i set it tp DHCP it still didnt work right, it would connect but when i tried surfing it would time out...maybe i need to reinstall again hmm. lol never had this problem with nix before
