CM8738 6 Channel with mandrake 9.1

Dear reader,

I want surround sound on my linux computer and i can't get it. I have a CM8738 6 channel sound card and i can only get 4 channels from it. I have tried using modprobe cmpci speakers=6 i still only get 4 channels. Can you please help me i really want my full sound back

probeall scsi_hostadapter ide-scsi
alias eth0 8139too
alias sound-slot-0 cmpci

You might need a better driver. I have a cmedia card, too and can't get it to work under linux. I'm not really suprised, tho, it took me forever to get it working under windows.
