Changed monitors without preparing
Hi all,
Please excuse my utter stupidity, but I really need help. Over the summer I changed monitors, getting rid of the old one. Now, when Linux (Mandrake) boots, I see several images of the desktop all imposed atop one another vertically. I can sort of navigate, but I have no idea how to fix this. Please help. |

You can configure your new monitor by running a program to edit /etc/X11/XF86Config-4. I think that the configuration progam is called xdrake in mandrake. ___________________________________ Be prepared. Create a LifeBoat CD. http://users.rcn.com/srstites/LifeBo...home.page.html Steve Stites |
CTRL-ALT-BACKSPACE to kill XSERVER.
This should drop you to a text console. If not, CTRL-ALT-F3 to text console.(*) In console: su <enter root password> XFdrake (case sensitive!) - Choose monitor brand/model. If not offered input refresh rates found in manual. - Exit XFdrake exit (to exit root account) startx |
