Hello I am new to linux and Mandrake. This is the first time I have installed a linux distro. I was trying to install some RPM files and at first everything was fine but for some reason now when I try to double click an RPM it asks me program to use to open it in. It seems like I have lost some of my file associations. I cant seem to fix it eather. If someone can help me here I would greatly apreciate it.

I assume that you are using KDE. If so then here is how to fix the problem.

Start the control center (kcontrol). Click on KDE Components -> File Associations -> application -> x-rpm

Then put the application that you want to use at the top of the application order. I prefer kpackage. Click on embedding and click on Show file in separate viewer. Apply

I also prefer single click to double click. If you want to use single click then Peripherals -> Mouse -> Single click to open files and folders. Apply
