Hi,

i'm a newbie but i just installed Mandrake Linux and when i right click destop and choose destop configuration (something like that)
and click it.. nothing happens it just doesn't load and more things don't start
i don't get it :/

can some1 help me?

Did you stop the Network Service? Have you tried commands in a terminal to check for errors being reported?

i re-installed Linux and everything worked fine :)

Were you on about Mdk9.2RC1? Coz I've just got the same problem, Kde starts but no apps are in the menus and no desktop menu buttons can start them. They're listed at the command line if I log out. I think I'll reinstall tomorrow morning and do a TakeII :)

no i got 9.1 but yeah i had that problem too.. nothing in start menu
only log out options etc

but it works fine now.. but sometimes i have allmost 400 mb ram in use after using it some hours :confused:

That's just linux cache-ing stuff in your ram. It's actively using it to speed reloading apps etc. Better than having it sitting there unused :cool:
As long as it isnt swapping loads then your fine.
