Cant get out of standby in 10.1

I have a problem every time my laptop goes into standby it wont turn on again? when i press the power button to get it out of standby it seems like it is powering up again, but the screen never turns on. if i the press ctrl + alt + del the mandrake shuts down as normal. and after a boot the screen is on again.
Does anyone have the same problem or know what causes this. The standby function worked just fine in xp.
My laptop is a Centrino type..
