Cannot type " and ~ in MDK10!

I just installed MDK10, so far so good. But the wierd thing is that I cannot type ' or " (The key between L and Return), nor can I type ~ or ` (They key left to "1" and above tab).

I selected "US International" keyboard during installation, cuz if I select "US American", the right ALT will not work.

How can I change the keyboard in GNOME or command line?

Funny - Noticed the same thing in my MDK. I just decided to experiment a bit. I'll post here with a solution if i find one. (Must be a obvious thing)

I found that pressing the key again produced the result - not a very neat solution I know.

I found the answer:

use gnome_keyboard_layout to add the US_101 keyboard.

And in GNOME, add the "Keyboard layout switcher" icon and use it to switch to the US101 keyboard. Now my right ALT key works and also the quotation mark and the ~ key.

I did not have this problem with KDE.
