cannot shut down mandrake 9.1

hi,

i was just wondering, how would i shutdown mandrake 9.1 through gui...

whenever i need to shutdown mandrake, i always have to open a terminal, login as root and type /sbin/init 0 or halt...

is there a way of doing things on the gui, specifically shutting down and restarting?

i do
in Kde:

press "alt" and "F2" together, and then type "halt" and press "enter"(twice i think).

I think there is an option in KDE's control panel kcontrol to choose logout = logout to another user or really log out

If you have auto-login, you have to logout then log back in with your password. I have had this happen to me.
