Had MDK10.2 working fine until problem with PDF files. Uninstalled ghostscript after trying lots of other stuff (upgrading, reinstall CUPS, printer, etc.). I was able to reinstall gs but I think it removed some OO dependencies.
Now OO writer and Kghostview do not work and MCC search software mgr. gives error message "sorry, can't select OpenOffice". How can I reinstall OO and Kghostview.
I would try removing both applications and reinstall them. That's the easiest way I can think of. Otherwise, you're looking at trying to find what exact packages you removed and locating them and installing them one by one.
If you use urpmi or RPMdrake, then those dependencies will be resolved when you re-install the applications.
Well I guess I got lucky. Could not remove OO because it was not listed as an installed app. Only listed as an INSTALLABLE app but wouldn't select. Took a wild guess and removed a kde openofficelib package, then I was able to reinstall OO. Still can't figure out what's missing to reinstall Kghostviewer, but it may not matter since I dwnloaded Acrobat for linux and PDF files are now printing fine.
Unfortunately, this is a serious flaw in the packaging system, by essentially leaving the app broken and UNABLE to reinstall after removal. There is no documentation that I could find on this and is only a total stroke of luck that I decided to remove the lib package.
