I run mandrake9.2, and it cannot read data in the CD of format of CD-RW. This confuses me because there's no problem in WinXP. May somebody tell me what's wrong?
Did you write the CR-RW in normal ISO mode (i.e. create tracks of data) or did you create it using WinXP's file-by-file packet writing method. If the latter, then (as root) you'll need to type the command:
What kind of data is on the CDRW? Music can not be mounted like a regular CD because there is no associated filesystem type.
Is a formated as an Adaptec DirectCD or Nero InCD. This is called packet writing i.e. udf and is different filesystem then a regular CD which is ISO9660.
Look at your /etc/fstab file does it list both filesystem types? i.e. udf,iso9660
Music files do not contain a filesystem like data CDs. I've posted a link where you can add a music filesystem but I'm not at my computer at the moment.
