Cannot install updates to Mandriva from the Internet

Hi everyone,
It is me again. I am using Mandriva Linux 2006, and I am unable to use urpmi to update the installed packages.
The problem is that I connect to the Internet through a http proxy that requires authentication. How can I configure the settings so that I can access the mirrors and so for urpmi?
Any help will be appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
:)

There should be a file in /etc/urpmi/ called proxy.cfg. Usually, you have to define the following:
Code:

http_proxy=<url>:<port>
proxy_user=<user>:<password>

anyway, see man proxy.cfg for details.

Thank you for the reply, Colucix. I have actually managed to configure the things and I added the mirrors from the command line. Some things downloaded themselves and added themselves as sources. So far, so good. But when I try to update, I get an error like unable to update, or the mirror unavailable. How to know which mirrors are working?

Did you add mirrors for all repositories from here, if so, make sure to select a mirror closest to you in the drop down menus.

Hi,

Actually, you could also try this source (I hear it's better than the zarb one, but who knows). I use it though:

Thank you, everyone

Hi Everyone,
Thank you for reading my post and trying to help me out. I actually upgraded to Mandriva 2007 Spring and added the corresponding sources. Now urpmi works just fine.
So I guess everything is fine now. I do have a couple of issues with Mandriva 2007 though, but I will post them in a new thread.
Thank you again. May God bless the Linux community.
