Cannot get to text mode install in Mandrakelinux 10.1 Community

I am trying to install Mandrakelinux 10.1 Community.

The minimum hardware requirements are:
Pentium processor or compatible
CDROM drive
At least 32 MB RAM, 64 MB recommended

I have:
Pentium processor
48 MB RAM
NO CDROM drive
30 Gb Hard Disk - with ISO images in /mandrakelinux

So I am installing from my hard disk using "hd_grub.img"
The "hd_grub.img" boot floppy works fine.
It takes me all the way the packages screen (after the Partitioning Screen).

Then it tells me that I do not have enough memory and I should use text mode.
To get to text mode, I need to
"...press [F1] at Mandrakelinux welcome screen, then type text at the prompt."

But where is this Mandrakelinux welcome screen ?
I don't see it.
Please tell me what am I doing wrong here.
How do I get to this Mandrakelinux welcome screen with a hard disk install?

Thanks.

It sounds to me as though it wants you to start all over. I believe the welcome
screen is the first thing you see when you start installing. At least with CD-ROM's,
you are given a choice there to press [F1] "for more options" or to press enter to
continue with the (graphic) install. I would think it would work the same way
with ISO images on the hard drive.

I have reboot this several times but I don't see where I can type the word "text".

Is there a way to mention "text" install on the floppy itself?

Currently, the floppy contains a file called "menu.lst"
This floppy was generated from mandrakelinux/images/hd_grub.img

This file "menu.lst" contains:
Quote:
timeout 0
default 0

title Mandrake Install

root (hd0,2)
kernel /mandrakelinux/isolinux/alt0/vmlinuz ramdisk_size=128000 root=/dev/ram3 acpi=ht vga=788 automatic=method:disk,partition=hde3,directory=/mandrakelinux
initrd /mandrakelinux/isolinux/alt0/all.rdz
Is it possible to specify the text install here somewhere?

Just read what it says at the welcome screen, press F* to enter some-other mode (rescue) and there you'll have it text mode.

It just removes the pretty graphic you see as the welcome screen.

Well, I still can not see the text mode option.

But instead I changed the swap partition from 100Mb to 1Gb.
Still I have 48Mb RAM but the install does not abort due to low memory because there is enough swap.
(The Hard Disk is 30Gb.)

Now the install is in progress.
