Cannot get StarDict Japanese dictionaries
I've installed 2009 Spring with KDE4.2, and as my interest is in the Japanese language I've set up SCIM-Anthy, which works OK. Next step is to instal, if possible, a Japanese/English dictionary - for example, EDICT and ENAMDICT which I've used for years. I know these are available from StarDict, but when I search in ’Install & Remove Software’, they are not listed although many other offerings are, such as Japanese-to-German. Strange.
I'm wondering - could it be that I'm on KDE and the ones I'm after are for GNOME only? I'm reluctant to make the jump to GNOME purely on the offchance - and anyway, I'm only just getting used to KDE. Or am I overlooking something obvious? Any thoughts from the knowledgeable folk out there? Roy |
It's for you to acquire the dictionaries you need from the stardict website and add them.

As easy as that, eh? Didn't think it would be possible. I'll make further enquiries with the site in question.
