Can I upgrade to 10.0 without deleting the original 9.0 install?

I have Mandrake 9.0 installed on my computer (dual boot w/Win98) and I am wondering how difficult it will be to upgrade to the new version 10.0 ?
I have the "Partition Comander" software installed , and it shows the linux partition. I am experiencing a problem with the 9.0. It gives me an error message when I try to start the linux 'OS'. I believe the problem is in the bootloader...???...
I am in the process of downloading the ISO's, and will be burning them within the next week or so.

**I am wondering if there is a site in which to get some documentation on the "How-To's" of upgrading...

Thanks for any suggestions... Cliff:newbie:

upgrading is quite easy with MANDRAKE, just loading the new cd will give the opportunity to upgrade or not.

I have experienced several problems when upgrading, so i will advise to erase partition and do a fresh install.

With an upgrade, you will keep programs as they where ... just upgrading those.

But you can discover some small problems, hard to correct for a newbie, that you will never have with a new install.
