hi, i've just installed mandrake 9.1 on my power mac 8600/300, and when I try to boot i get a message that says:
the super block could not be read or does not describe a correct ext2 filesystem.
If the device is valid and it really contains an ext2 filesystem (and not swap or ufs or something else), then the superblock is corrupt, and you might try running e2fsck with an alternate superblock: e2fsck -b 8193 <device>
: No medium found while trying to open /dev/sdc8
Failed to check filesystem. Do you want to repair the errors? (Y/N) (beware, you can loose data)
if I want to repair it, it fails and drops me into a shell that requires me either the root password or reboot.
any ideas?
