Can't use Labtec WebcamPro after GSPCA install via MCC
Hi! Everyone,
I am trying to get my Labtec Webcam Pro to work under Mandriva 2008.0.
Using MCC I installed the dkms-gspcav1-1.00.18-3mdv2008.0.noarch driver.
However the camera failed to work so I ran modprobe -r gspca andf then modprobe gspca force_rgb=0. And got tyhe folloing results. When I tried to download the gspca driver by urpmi I was informed that it was already installed. Yet a search using Beagle fails to find the gspca driver.
Any ideas on how to resolve this problem would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Tony
P.S. The strange thing is that it worked on a previous install of Mandriva 2008.0
Another point is that modprobe -r unloads the module from a running system, but it does not uninstall the software package, so when you attempt to remove it again (modprobe -r gspca) or execute a command to it (modprobe gspca force_rgb=0) the module will not be found because it is no longer loaded into memory. However, when you try to install it again, urpmi reports that the software package is installed because it has not been uninstalled. If you want to uninstall the gspca software package from your system you have to use urpme (urpme gspca). If you want to load the module you run modprobe (modprobe gspca).
