Can't upgrade from 10.0 to 10.1 (Community)

Hi

I'm trying to upgrade to 10.1 Community using CD's which came with a Linux magazine, since I'd rather not do another large download over 56K dialup. I currently have 10.0 Official running, but would like to have the benefits from the newer kernel and KDE.

After selecting the "upgrade" option, it goes as far as the 'Partition' step, then gives the following error:

Quote:

An error occurred
Mounting partition /dev/hda1 in directory /mnt/home/user/drive_c failed (no such file or directory)
I have 3 Windows partitions, followed by my Linux partition. I checked in my system configuration for mount points and whilst all 3 are visible to Linux, none are mounted.

Do I have change anything in Linux before trying the upgrade???

Prior to upgrading, try saving your /etc/fstab to /etc/fstab.old. Then edit /etc/fstab and remove any line referring to mounting your windows partitions.

And just like that, it worked! Thankyou very very very much, bunnadik!

Now I just have to get my ATI drivers working again, but it should be as straightforward as before, I hope!
