Question Can't install Mandriva 10.1 OE

Hey guys,

I'm having trouble installing Mandriva PowerPack 10.1 DVD.
Bios is set up ok, it asks me what to do (press F1 or hit Enter).
After pressing Enter I get a blank screen, no HDD activity, nothing.
Reset.

Now F1 and then text command, system locks and last line was
Code:
PCI: VIA IRQ fixup for 0000:00:10.0 , from 11 to 5
I am seting it up with the following config:

ASUS A7V880 (VIA KT880) Latest BIOS
AMD Sempron 2600+
Leadtek Win Fast A340TD
512 RAM

SATA1: Seagate 80GB
Secundary Master WD 40GB

Primary Slave DVD-RW
Sec. Slave CD-RW

I want to setup the system on the 40 GB one with a
512 MB Swap,
250 for /boot and ~
7 .2 GB for root
-------------------------------
Now I have some questions besides this problem (optional):
1. Can my Internet connection (LAN) move move slowly than in Windows ?
-Tried in FC4. What can I say except. Bleah!.

2. Can Mandrake play right from install MP3's dvix, xvid, mpeg, qt and/or rm

3. If installed where would I get updates (KDE, Gnome, Open Office, kernel) and how hard would it be ?

4. If for eg. I want to install it over again or another distro, how could I do it without losing settings and/or programs ?

5. How can I tweak this or any other Linux system ?
-You know, services, system tweaks.

Ok, that's about it.
PS. I'm 85% newbie. .

Thanks again.

What kind of PCI cards are in your system? Try putting the card in a different slot on the MB that should change the IRQ for it... I think you can do it from the BIOS as well but easier just to physically switch the card.

Found it.

In the end I got every option disabled and enabled to see what exactly went wrong.

I got to the section about USB stuff
The guilty party is in my case at least:
Legacy USB Support witch must be [/B]Disabled
I am pretty sure that it was Enabled or on Auto
