Its caled configure your desktop, in the location as above. Or you can also type kcontorl from the comandline or the run box thats on the kmenu.

Tried that... it isn't in there... a LOT of the configuration menus are missing... there's nothing for network or naything.

may be a stupid question, but are you using kde?

Adamant1988 05-20-2006 10:11 PM

Yeah, I'm using KDE Should I try the distro with a different enviroment?

Richie55 05-21-2006 06:45 AM

Hum... just thought that you might not and that is why it is not where we have surgested, as we did just assume you were using KDE.

The only thing I can think of is something didn't install. Did you do a fresh install or an upgrade?

kcontrol is the KDE control center. If you want to start the mandriva Control Center type mcc as root at the command line or you can use the command DrakConf too.
The Mandriva menu system looks busted in a lot of cases. If something is not there but you know it's installed you can type the command to the command line and start it that way.

Also, if that is the case, then you could just create your own menu items linked to the corresponding command.

Thanks guys, I'm thinking I got a bad burn or something... I tried a reinstall but when I booted up with was met with "L 99 999 99 99 99 99 99 99 99" seems like a problem with the disks..
