Can't figure out how to shut down ML 9.2

Hello I have already googled and searched this forum. I'm probably just not typing the right words because I can't find a solution to my seemingly easy problem.

I have 3 computers running Mandrake 9.2, two of them when I click on the K menu > Logout (username) I get radio options to logout, restart, or shutdown and if I am at the login menu I can even choose which OS I want to reboot into.

On the 3rd system I only get 2 buttons, Logout and Cancel. Even as root. Currently to shutdown or restart I have to log out, log back in as root, start Konsole, and type in shutdown -r now. There MUST be a setting somewhere to fix this, but I can't find it.

Any help appreciated. Thanks.

In your console, just type

Code:
poweroff
That shuts your computer down. You can then just create a little script and just double-click it down shut down.

Thanks for the reply.

I'd rather get it like my other 2 9.2 systems where the option is in the logout menu. The other systems are all running the same OS version (from the same CD set) so it's got to be here somewhere.

Now I had this problem a while back
from memory I think I had to go to the login manager
in the MCC
there is a section there about allowing people to shutdown

have a dig around in there
I'm sure that was where the answer was
floppy
