Can't add root to logon screen

I have just installed Mandrake 10.1 - no real problems but, unlike previous versions there is no option to install root on the logon menu.
How do I add root to the logon menu as I want to install some stuff and it is a real pain in the backside having to open a terminal and su to root and I am not that familiar with commands.

Thanks,

Deke1955.

Login as a user. Go to
System -> Configuration-> KDE-> System-> Login Manager

Enter the root password

Click the Users tab. The user "root" should have an "x" next to the name, marking it as hidden. Uncheck the "x" then click Apply, then click "OK."

Hit Ctrl-Alt-Backspace to restart X. This should bring you to the login window, and root should now be one of the choices.
