Bypassing the root password
 

Hey guys? A buddy of mine forgot his root password, and ideas how to bypass it?

The Knoppix live cdrom (dvd) will get you into the system.

And slax live cd too.

Thanks.. the dynebolic live cd can also get you in the system. Anyhoo' I booted the machine with a slack cd and deleted the /etc/shadow /etc/passwd files.
I then booted in failsafe mode and now I have problems loggin in (which is understandale!)
the useradd does not work.
is there any default login? or what do i do?
