burning DVD's

Is it necessary to have special software to burn DVD's with 9.1 ?

I have tried with Xcdroast , K3b, Euroaster.
To no avail.. it seems that these programs cant handle this function
they just say I have 650 Mo space ?!!

I have a Pioneer cd /dvd reader/burner

The reading fuction works fine as i can install linux with the DVD ?

If you truly have a dvd burner. Go out to the Xcdroast web site. Their youll find what you have to do to get Xcdroast to burn DVD's. MDK 10.0 burns DVD by default. This feature wasn't include with 9.1 at the time.
