Mandrake 9.2 is really buggy. It took me only a day to realize that. Menus disappear when you uninstall software as well. The control center launches but freezes. Some programs execute but never open. Many of the Mandrake GUI config programs take a REALLY long time to open. The system in general is overrall sluggish. I would recommend NOT using 9.2 and if you already have it installed, downgrade to 9.1. This is really bad and I'm disappointed in Mandrake releasing such a buggy product even after the delays.

I didn't try the bug fix. Updating the menus in menudrake fixed it though (perhaps temporarily?). At any rate, I got so fed up with guis freezing/not loading, sluggishness and that bug that I have sworn off MDK. I'm now running Slack 9.1. It is A LOT faster than MDK and it's not really that difficult to install.

This problem I asked before on and the answer is to restore the menu bar. It also happens when you use the rpm load.

use configuration-other-menudrake- file - reload system conf

Hello people

I don't know if it will help you with the menus problem, but Mandrake released a bug fix for the menus problem...

http://www.mandrakesecure.net/en/adv...=MDKA-2003:030

you can check if you have the right rpm installed with:

rpm -qa | grep <package> (without .rpm)

and if you need to update some or all the packages, you can run this one:

urpmi <package>

Hope it be useful
