bttuner audio problems

I'm running mandriva and thanks to the help of user happytux here ww.linuxquestions.org/questions/showthread.php?s=&postid=1821420#post1821420
was able to do a modprobe in order to get my conexant fusion 878a ntsc formatted tv tuner up and running ... kinda. The modprobe he told me to do was excellent, and i'm receiving great video, but just as I was having in windows xp I am having problems getting the audio to work on linux. I have tried running a simple audio cable from the audio out of my tuner into the audio in of my sound card as others have suggested and am still not getting anything. Also I just noticed that for some reason the channel scan isn't working properly no matter what I use and all I can seem to get is comedy central. Could the setting I have in windows be affecting this?

so yeah, video seems to be working, but no audio and only getting one channel. And just so you know I have already gone into my hardware and calibrated the new channel settings. I'll keep messing with it, but if anyone has any good advice i'll try to take it.

once again I still can't post url's, forgive this newbie.

then you'll have your 5 posts

Well I'm not sure of the mobo, but it's the kind with the usb, serial ports, and sound connections all in the one central place. If you want i'll turn it off and take a look. It's running an amd athalon 2400 and i've got 2 80 gig hard drives one running XP and the other running mandriva. There is a gig of ddr ram in the form of two different 512 chips. I'm not really sure of the vidcard but again if people need to know, i'll gladly turn this thing off and take a look. I will anyway in a few hours but i'm a bit busy right now. Thanks to anyone that can help.
