Bootable RAID

I have tried in the past to have bootable RAID with Mandrake with no luck.

When I install Mandrake, it says it installs lilo to md0 but after I let everything sync I try to remove a HDD and the box will not boot.

I tried to type lilo and lilo tells me it is installed just one time. I know what it should say... it should print out everything 2 times with RAID 1.

Am I doing something wrong or does Mandrake and lilo not work well with bootalbe RAID?
