Boot problems with MandrakeMove
First off.. I am new a all aspects of Linux, but Mandrake seemed the best choice for a beginner. Anyway, mandrakeMove seemed logical because I coul d test it out with out any harddrive commitment.
Problem:
boots fine to the splash screen (enter to boot, F1 for options).. I hot enter and it loads the three processess or parts... then it say "processing please wait ..."
After that 2 distinct errors happen:
1. It does some sort of trace routine with my Cd-ROm which ends in an EID error and then it just sits there...
2. It says something about not being about to create file systems.. sends a kill code then gives a message saying I can safely reboot or halt system. I have tried some of the F1 options like noauto, but the same thing happens...
I have an HP 1.2gzh Machine, 256 ram , ATI card with 32megs, 40x cd-rom, intel onboard sound card... oh the processor is a Celeron...
Any suggestions should be helpful... becasue I am clueles as to what to do next.
PS... It says it is booting the Dec 17, 2003 ISOLINUx..if that means anything... I just got the ISO of a current mirror... soo.. what's next..
Thanks For you Time.../
