Bittorrent Download... 2 Hashes failed
 

I set the 9.2 torrent running before going to bed last night, and when I got up this morning, I was stuck at 99.9% with 2 hashes failing the CRC repeatedly. Restarting the torrent didn't help.

Has anyone seen anything similar to this? Any other time I've had a problem with hashes failing, they've corrected themselves after a retry or two. In this case, I'd estimate they had retried for about 5 hours with no success.

I've been using bittorrent for a while now, but this one has me confused. I went ahead and started the last 2 iso files downloading from an FTP mirror (first completed 100% through bt), but I'm curious to find out what's happening here.

I've seen this before. Sometimes it's a problem with the file itself or the seeder. If it's stuck at 99.9%, just assume it's done downloading and just view/play/execute the file.

I ended up with bit torrent 9.2 iso's being junk
 

I downloaded the 3 cd's for mandrake 9.2 the first time using bit torrent and even with all ending up saying they were complete, there were errors that repeated burning of cd 2 proved it was the iso file and not the cd I made. I just said the heck with it and did what I should have from the start and redownloaded them from an official mandrake ftp site. After that I haven't had a problem with the iso files at all. I have burned quite a few copies for my friends and all have worked beautifully.

I would suggest that you do the same. It is better to do this then end up in the middle of an install finding that it can't read a file or 2 off of the dsk you have in.

Funny you should mention that. I grabbed 2 and 3 from one of the official FTPs. CD1 showed complete in BT passed the md5sum, and I burned it successfully. But 2 failed the md5sum and (as I was a glutton for punishment and tried it anyway) the iso burn failed as well. Just not my day I guess. I figure I'll give BT one more shot, then try and snag the ISOs for 2&3 from an ftp site again. Hopefully, third time's a charm.
