Aztech ADSL Modem DSL500U

Hi,

I am an experienced Windows user but newbie in Linux. Just installed Mandrake 9.1 last night but could not get the internet to work. Think my modem is recognized as a scanner, as seen in Mandrake Control Centre. Anybody can advise me how I could solve the problem?

why not wait till 10.1 official is released? on an old 2.4.x kernel under mandrake 9.1 it may be a bit difficult.

sohck; according to aztech that modem is not supported in linux only W,s.
checked it via google.com & http://www.aztech.com/products/dsl500u.html

Thanks. Looks like I will have to replace my modem with a new one. Do you know of any modem that can be easily configured in Mandrake? Maybe one that you have personally work with.
