Can anyone tell me how to install the ATI drivers in Mandrake 9.2 - I have one of the newer ATI cards that don't work in XFree 4.3. So far I've managed to install the kernel source, and install the drivers, which work in 2D and allow me to boot into X-Windows.

I'm having trouble running the ./make.sh however, I get the following error message:

ATI module generator 2.0
==================
initialising...
probing for VMA API version...
check results are inconsistent!!!
none of the probed versions did succeed
aborting module build

Can anyone help?

Go to http://www.ati.com/support/driver.html to get the ATI latest drivers. There is a "how to" document, though I cannot remember the name of it, but DO download this, as it tells how to install the driver.

I have an ATI Radeon 9600 Pro, which the XFree86 4.3 Radeon drivers will not work for. I never got an X window session to start up with the drivers that came with the MDK9.2 distro.

I installed the driver from ATI, FOLLOWED the instructions and got 3d hardware support. (See my earlier posting where I tried to install WITHOUT following the instructions. Idiot me!)
