Question ATI all-in-wonder 9000 pro and Mandrake 9.1

Hi there... kind of a wiz on Winxp -- but, getting mandrake 9.1 to get to a gui is proving to be quite a problem. I've partitioned the HD.. installed the o/s .. gotten to lilo.. boot into any of the four mandrake options in the menu.. and get to a command line everytime. I type startx .. and it tries.. screen blinks.. I get a "no screens" error and get back to command line. I do an XFdrake and try to set up my vid card.. and it seems to recognize it.. try to 'test' it and it just blows back to command line. HELP!!??

thanks
jp

I had this type of problem but it was monitor related. My vertical and horizontal refresh rates were not within range. I had to give the EXACT vertical refresh rate and EXACT horizontal refresh rate down to the decimal place and my GUI loads up. Check your monitor setting and set it really really low to see if it will at least work.

If it doesn't work, then I have no clue. Good luck
