Applying patch from CD-ROM

Hi

I am quite a newbie in Linux, so sorry for such a newbie question .

When installing Mandriva how can I apply a patch from CD-ROM. There is a siple command 'patch', but it is to apply a patch from a floppy and I couldn't make it to read a patch from CD.

Thank you

Could you copy the patch from the cd onto your computer and then apply it? If the cdrom is mounted you can just use the cp command. If it wont mount you can use dd to copy it over.
