Application similar to aptitude for urpmi?

Hey Guys,

I am looking for a terminal application (similar to aptitude for apt-get) for urpmi. I have been using Mandriva for the last couple of years, and I caught a glimpse of aptitude at work last week, and I was very impressed.

Here is a screenshot of aptitude:

According to the Wikipedia, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aptitude_(program), aptitude itself is already available. Is there some problem with getting it that you need help w/?

If aptitude is ported from Debian to other distros, like apt-get has been, it will be a version as crippled as apt-get for other distros. Best bet: If you want Debian tools, use Debian.

In my opinion having used both in mandrake i prefer urpmi.Take a look here http://www.mandrakehelp.com/RPM-HOWTO.html
for instruction on urpmi.

Listen to sharkee -- he's been there.

I was just pointing you in the direction you said you wanted to go, I wasn't endorsing your choice of direction. Personally, I use only Debian based stuff & heartily agree w/ rickh, but I normally try to stay away from "theological" comment. And believe me, any comment I would have made would have been more theological than practical (unlike [i]rickh[/i).
