Anyone have any luck with Mandriva 2007 beta?
To my surprise, I saw on mandriva.com that the beta for 2007 is out.
I tried to install the DVD 586-x86_64 iso file, but right at the end, I mean, the end, it stops and pops up some "folder (or target) not present, or something like that". "no such folder/target", something like that. anyone getting this or does it install properly for you? |
No such file or directory
It would be good to know what file or directory doesn't exist. It would be also good to report this bug to the Mandriva bugzilla (http://qa.mandriva.com). |
Where do I download the latest version?
I want to download a free version for 32 bit where can I find
a CD or dvd version? I tried looking for the Beta on the Mandrake site but it all appears to be now sales or club members. I would like to try the 2007 beta or rc1 if possible? |
x86_64 is Dual Architecture, DVD loads either 32 or 64
Barry I had similar problem. I think they would like you to sign up!
I just DL the dvd.iso file last week! I used BitTorrent 4. as I recall. Quote:
At LQ ISOs, follow Mandrakelinux to LQ ISOs>Mandrakelinux Related links: Official Website to mandriva.com `Welcome / Home Mandriva Linux' Click News about 2nd beta release, go to almost bottom of screen `DOWNLOAD Mandriva Linux Beta ODIN' From list of mirror sites I picked Taiwan (closest 2 U?), I picked middle link. Then click middle folder `i586-x86 64'. U should see choices of CD or DVD, I burned Data disc in Suse 10.1, it made checksum verifications automatically!! I rebooted, ESC to my boot menu, picked my DVR-K06 as boot & Mandriva ODIN started the install, BUT! Please C my thread in Newbie about no root option avail w/new ODIN install! I am multiple boot + w/ M$ crap. |
The beta is still open to all. Go to http://www.mandriva.com and near the bottom right, there's "News" and you can click on "mandriva beta"
You then go down to "download Mandriva linux beta odin" (shortcut below this) http://www.mandriva.com/en/linux/200...alinux2007beta From there, go to your country, assuming USA. and the way it's set up is this: Mandriva Linux 2007 Beta 2 "Odin": Note : The ISO files are under 3 directories. i586 holds the 32bits version of Mandriva One (Live/Install CD) (also works on x86_64). x86_64 holds the 64bits version of Mandriva One (Live/Install CD). i586_x86_64, for the Dual Architecture DVD/CDs ISO files. Find the folder you desire and simply download the ISO file. I did last night and tried it today. It's not quite fully ready of course. I had some issues already. |
