Question ALSA/AUDIGY Losing settings?

I have a fresh install of mandrake 10 official. The sound from my sb audigy card worked great after the install. Now everytime I reboot the machine I have to run alsaconf to get the sound going again. Has anyone had this problem and found a fix?

You need to edit your local startup script so it restores your alsa controls every time you boot.

In Slack the file is in /etc/rc.d/rc.local, I have no clue about mandrake because it uses a different init. Write this in whichever startup script applies to you:

Code:
alsactl restore

mandrake startup script?

Whats the startup script that mandrake uses? I also notice when the modules are loading it says that ALSA is already loaded. Whats with that?

Nevermind I guess. Booted up the machine when I got home from work and the settings were restored. Wicked.

Well, the settings stuck around for one reboot after I ran alsaconf. A second reboot and it was the same old thing. I had to run alsaconf to get the sound working. I don't see anyplace for alsactl restore in the /etc/rc.d/rc.local.

Anyone have any other ideas?
