I had to reinstall Mandrake Linux 10 Beta 2 after destroying my installation with some stupid partitioning mistake(don't ask...). Well, I tried to install again after deleting my currupted partitions and it would not start up. Something about "Code <0> Kernal Panic Tried to kill init!" Well, I installed Mandrake 9.2 and upgraded from that. Then I could get it running at least. But now, In KDE there seems to be some missing files. For instance, when I go to the KDE control panel there are no catagories. I have installed every bit of KDE from my discs, and now I have no idea what to do.

Please note that although I have been using Linux fo about half a year, I have yet to have a problem like this. So I don't really know anything about fixing it.

Maybe it's the menu bug? go to mandrake and load your settings, press save. That should rebuild your menu.
