Have found the procedure some what changed from version 9.2 Have tranfered windows fonts to a folder in home documents but have yet to find away to install them into the font folder. To integrate additional fonts to Openoffice 1 go to the (installpath) /program directory 2.Enter:./spadmin \Have tried to follow these instructions .but where is ./spadmin Tried terminal command no good. Font path "/usr/x11R6/lib/ No Font dir found One can add RPMs font files no problem How can one add all windows fonts to use in Openoffice? No problem in 9.2 Any help welcomed Maurice |
You can start OpenOffice one time so it can be created the .openoffice directory in your home directory.
Then go to .openoffice and run ./spadmin from command. I think you will have no problem. |
for some reason they removed the "install all fonts at once" method. i dunno why.........
here's a work around.......... if you're dual booting, go to your \windows\fonts directory & copy the fonts. then go to /usr/share/fonts, create a directory called ttf (if there isn't one already there) & copy the fonts to that directory. reboot.......... if you don't have a Windows partition, but have access to Windows on a different machine, then burn all the Windows fonts to a CD & use the same method. otis |
Fonts
Hi
Thanks for details on adding ttf fonts Mandrake 10 boots to normal user. In a terminal you can use su for root. I tried to drag then copy and paste Windows ttf files from home/ma/Documents to usr/share/fonts but "Access denied" How can I boot to root and gain access? Inorder to copy drag and drop these ttf files Maurice |
no need to boot to root. type the following in terminal as root..........
konqueror (hit enter) konqueror will now open in superuser file manager mode, giving you GUI access to all files. you can also type the following in terminal as normal user........ kdesu konqueror (hit enter) it will then ask for the root password & open konqueror file manager in superuser mode. otis |
Adding Fonts
Hi Otish
Delighted with the command for root with KDESU Konqueror. A lot quicker than the way I took via MCC>Boot>Autologin. No Autologin StartX in Root then configure root Desktop. Have all the fonts I need in Openoffice now. Thanks for your help |
Adding Fonts
Is that fine If I create a dir inside usr/share/fonts/ttf/ & copy all the .ttf files from Win partition or should I copy all the .ttf files to usr/share/fonts/ttf itself.......i can't get them into officeorg if I do the above one!!......how abt. transferring the pictures avbl. with microsoft office suite to be copied onto Mandrake...
help me out !! ~ Matt |
just copy the .ttf fonts to /usr/share/fonts/ttf. don't make another subdirectory under /ttf. i'm not sure about your other question............. do you mean can you copy MSOffice art work to make it work in MDK/OpenOffice? if so, i'm not really sure, but i don't think so. i never tried it or looked into it, but i'd think there would be a file format conflict & it wouldn't work. if i'm wrong, i'm sure somebody else will give you a better response.
