acroread problem in Compaq presario v6000 under Mandriva 2006

Hi,
I m facing problem with acroread. When I try to read a pdf file using acroread, I don't get any response, no error message also. But acroread quits just after some time.

Any solution plz?

Start acroread from commandline and see if you get any error messages when trying to read a pdf.

other pdf readers are Xpdf and kpdf, also check out ghost.

all open source and not proprietory like adobe acrobat-reader.

{BBI}Nexus{BBI}: I tried from commandline only. But didn't get any error message. I am attching below the command and the response:

$ acroread lpgb.pdf &
[1] 7058
[1]+ Exit 1 acroread lpgb.pdf

Glenn: xpdf is working fine. kpdf is not installed in my machine.
