I have Mandrake 10 up and running with out and issues, What I did was format one of my drives completely and install drake on it. The boot manager is on the first drive hda and what can I say it works well, no issues at all. When I burned my CD's I slowed the burner down to 4x as with my system I have found that I have greater success even though I have a ton of ram. In the past when I had an install issue it was usually do to the CD not being read correctly. The sound card configured on the first try and it's an Aureal !! that's a feat in itself! Set up two NIC's did struggle with connection sharing until I dumped Mandrakes version of Shorewall and install a new copy. umm other than that it works, and works well.

I would REALLY like to know the details as I am wrestling with Mandrake 10. and shorewall myself.

You say you "dumped mandrakes shorewall" and "installed another"
Could you explain in detail how you did that? e.g.
1) Dump mandrake shorewall by going to package management and ...?
2) Installed another by going to this link: ??????
downloading this rpm ????
then going to mandrake package management and ....... ???

3) Once the 'new' shorewall package is installed, did you have to edit some
files or is that all part of the rpm?

IF you needed to edit, did you do that manually or is there a mandrake wizard that will let you set things up?
