A boot: no soundcards found (alasa failed)

I have read several threads dealing more or less with my problem, but I have not found a solution up to now. At boot I get a "no sound card found" followed by "failed" concerning Alsa mixer parameters (?).

I give below information that I assume to be relevant

Thanks for help

What does lsmod give you? If the module isn't loaded, you could try to load it yourself by typing modprobe snd-via82xx.
