9.2 upgrading to 10?

I had to uninstall 9.2 because Boot record got screwed up, and it wouldn't boot (so Instead of rescuing it, I just uninstalled it Like the noob I am). I've tryed to install 9.2 again on my machine, but it seems a lot slower for some reason, and manrake 9.2 can't find all of the files, so it prompts me if I would like to continue on EVERY file, it seems. I would like KDE 3.2, and I'm thinking bout getting Mandrake 10. Is this a wise choice?
