Hi there, I've recently installed Mandrake 9.2 (as a secondary OS, can't quite pry me away from MS just yet ).

I have searched the net looking for a solution and the only hits are related but the answers are vague like "check your dns settings" or "make sure you have localhost in the hosts file".
The system runs fine when it gets going, but it sits on the "Starting system logger" boot option for over a minute so actually starting up the computer becomes a chore. Faster just to boot to XP...

Does anyone have any ideas why I would have the slow down or even better, any solutions for how to solve this niggle?

I'll check what the script does. Not today though since here in britain we are mostly busy drinking ourselves stupid these days (christmas you know)
