9.2 kernel recompile

I've read in the past that for 9.1, that the kernel source config didn't correspond to the kernel binaries ... meaning that a straight recompile without changing any option would result in a different kernel.

Are 9.2 kernel sources config exactly the ones of the binary kernel provided ?

well, if u use the latest kernel source update it will be different that the kernel shipped with distro

Each kernel (I run the latest) binary has a different source package. That's what I am talking about. My question is about the configuration that ships with the source package. You would expect it to be the one used to compile the binary.

I am just asking if anyone has had "surprises" that suggests the situation is different.

i am not sure but i think when u compile it reads the config file from /boot folder.
