9.2 adding existing windows NTFS drive - can't access
Well here goes - in the process of trying to migrate over I have a 12G data drive from my XP box. Mandrake control center hardware configuration has it as hdc
mount shows the following
/dev/ide/host0/bus1/target0/lun0/part5 on /mnt/windows type ntfs (rw)
I create a desktop icon to access the drive - the device is /dev/hdc5 /mnt/windows - OK
I try to enter the HD and I get "Could not enter directory /mnt/windows" - I use Konqueror and go to /mnt/windows and the icon has a little lock on it .. locked directory ---???
Well, I installed the ntfs library files and it fixed itself...now I can see the drive after I reboooted, go figure considering I had rebooted after installing the drive...
